Best UK-Made Greens Powder: Who Actually Makes Theirs Here

August 13, 2026 6 min read

A plain tub and a glass of water on a concrete kitchen worktop in morning window light. Headline: UK-made never means grown here.

Before the list, one thing has to be said, because it changes the question.

No greens powder sold in Britain is made from British greens. Spirulina, chlorella, baobab, moringa, maca and matcha are not farmed here at any scale. Ours are not British either.

So "UK-made" always means blended and packed here. It never means grown here.

That still matters. It tells you which food safety rules the factory works under, and how far the powder travelled. It is just a smaller claim than most people think they are buying.

The short answer

Best documented: Rheal Organic Clean Greens. Two separate retailers publish its country of origin as the United Kingdom, and Ocado lists the maker's actual address in Sunderland. Nothing else on the shelf is that well evidenced.

Cheapest with a published UK origin: Grass & Co ACTIVE Super Greens. That is 49p a serving at Holland & Barrett. Oddly, Ocado is the shop that publishes the UK origin, and Ocado charges £24.00 for the same tub.

Now the useful part, which is how to check this for any product yourself.

Where the answer is actually written down

Brands are not the place to look. We checked Rheal's own product page and Huel's own UK product page on 13 August 2026. Neither states where the powder is made.

The retailers are better, and one of them is very good.

  • Boots publishes a Country of Origin line on every supplement listing.
  • Ocado publishes four things: country of origin, country of packing, the manufacturer's full address, and the returns address.
  • Holland & Barrett publishes none of them. We checked all eleven greens powders on their shelf.

So if you want to know where something is made, look it up on Ocado even if you plan to buy it somewhere else.

Checked on boots.com and ocado.com on 13 August 2026. These fields get corrected from time to time, so check the current listing before you rely on any of it.

The one that surprised us

Huel is a British company. It is run out of Hertfordshire, and most people would put it near the top of a UK-made list without thinking.

Boots lists the country of origin for Huel Daily Greens as the United States.

We then checked Huel's own UK product page for Daily Greens on the same day. It does not say where the product is made, one way or the other.

So all we can tell you is what Boots publishes. If Boots has that wrong, or if it changes, tell us and we will update this page. We would rather be corrected than leave something unfair up.

The other three are less surprising. Udo's Choice is a Flora brand from Washington State. SWIISH is Australian. WeightWorld's organic greens are listed as made in Romania, which is a perfectly ordinary place to make food.

A UK address on the pack proves nothing

This is the part worth remembering, because it is how most people get it wrong.

Ocado publishes the manufacturer's address as well as the country. Put the two together and you can see the gap.

Product Manufacturer as listed Returns go to
Rheal Clean Greens Rheal Superfoods Ltd, Sunderland The same address
Bioglan Supergreens PharmaCare (Europe) Ltd, Crawley The same address
Aduna Super Greens Aduna, Great Portland Street, London Wasdell Packaging, Swindon
Udo's Choice Beyond Greens Flora Inc, Lynden, Washington, USA Savant Distribution, Leeds
TriActive Sport Blend Holland & Barrett International Ltd The same address

Look at the Udo's Choice row. There is a Leeds address on that product, and the powder is made in Washington State. The Leeds company distributes it.

The Aduna row shows the other version of the same thing. A London brand address, and the actual packing done by a contract packer in Swindon. Aduna are not hiding it. Ocado simply prints both, and most shops do not.

One more, which we found by accident: Ocado lists the manufacturer of TriActive Sport Blend as Holland & Barrett International Limited.

Our own answer, judged by the same rule

Collagen Greens carries a "UK Made Supplement" badge, and our product page says it is produced in the UK. We are in Newcastle and we ship from Newcastle.

But that is our own label talking, which is exactly what this page has just told you not to trust.

Every other UK row in that table came from a shop, not a brand. A shop has no reason to flatter us. Ours cannot be checked that way, because we are not stocked in a shop that publishes the field.

We would rather say that out loud than let you assume our claim carries the same weight as Rheal's. It does not.

And the first rule applies to us too. Our spinach, wheatgrass, barley grass, alfalfa, chlorella, spirulina, carrot and broccoli are not British crops. They are blended and packed here.

WHAT WE CAN ACTUALLY EVIDENCE

Made here. Grown all over.

Our bag says UK-made, we are based in Newcastle, and we have been shipping from there since 2012. What we will not tell you is that the greens are British, because no greens powder's are. If a claim on a label matters to you, we would rather you could check it.

Made in the UK Newcastle, since 2012 4g collagen, 4g creatine No synthetic vitamins

Does it matter where it is made?

Less than the marketing suggests, and more than nothing.

A UK factory works to UK and retained EU food law, and is inspected by a local authority here. That is a real thing. It is also true of a factory in Romania, which works to EU rules that are broadly the same.

What it does not tell you is anything about the recipe. A UK-made powder that is mostly chicory fibre is still mostly chicory fibre.

So use origin as a tiebreaker, not as the first filter. Start with what is actually in the tub. We went through that in our guide to unflavoured greens powders, where the first ingredient does most of the talking.

Who should buy what

  • You want the best evidenced UK origin. Rheal Clean Greens. Two shops publish it and the maker's address is in Sunderland.
  • You want UK-made and cheap. Grass & Co ACTIVE at Holland & Barrett, 49p a serving. Check the origin on Ocado's listing, then buy it wherever is cheapest.
  • You want UK-made with no flavouring or sweetener. Applied Nutrition Greens Powder Unflavoured at Boots.
  • You are avoiding American-made supplements. Skip Huel Daily Greens and Udo's Choice, on what Boots and Ocado currently publish.
  • You want UK-made with collagen and creatine already in it. That is us, with the caveat above about who is vouching for the claim.

Questions people ask

How do I find out where a greens powder is made?

Look it up on Ocado, even if you buy it elsewhere. Ocado publishes the country of origin, the country of packing and the manufacturer's full address on the product page. Boots publishes country of origin. Holland & Barrett publishes neither.

Does UK-made mean the ingredients are British?

No, and it never does for greens. Spirulina, chlorella, baobab, moringa and matcha are not grown here in any quantity. UK-made means the powder was blended and packed here from ingredients bought in from around the world.

Is Huel Daily Greens made in the UK?

Boots lists its country of origin as the United States, checked on 13 August 2026. Huel is a British company, and its own UK product page does not say where Daily Greens is made. We are reporting what the retailer publishes, so check the current listing yourself.

Is Lean Greens made in the UK?

Our label says UK-made and our product page says produced in the UK. We are based in Newcastle and ship from there. We sell direct rather than through a shop, so there is no retailer country-of-origin field to check us against.

Is a UK-made greens powder better?

Not automatically. It tells you which food safety rules the factory follows and how far the powder travelled. It tells you nothing at all about how much greens is in the tub.
