Super Greens Powder UK

A greens powder is only worth buying if you are still drinking it in six months. Ours puts wholefood greens, 4,000mg of hydrolysed collagen, 4,000mg of creatine monohydrate and DigeZyme® digestive enzymes into a single scoop — so it replaces two or three tubs rather than joining them on the shelf.

No synthetic vitamins are added to pad the ingredient count. Blended and packed in the UK, where we have been making it since 2012.

The short answer

A super greens powder is a dried blend of vegetables, grasses and algae — usually spinach, wheatgrass, barley grass, chlorella and spirulina — mixed into water as a daily top-up. It is not a substitute for vegetables. Some carry an authorised vitamin or mineral claim where they supply enough of one to qualify; none can lawfully claim anything for the greens themselves. What separates them is what else is in the scoop: Lean Greens Collagen Greens puts 4,000mg of hydrolysed collagen and 4,000mg of creatine monohydrate alongside the greens, at £1.21–£1.67 a serving.

  • Typically spinach, wheatgrass, barley grass, chlorella, spirulina
  • Claims are allowed only on vitamins and minerals, not the greens
  • Not a substitute for vegetables
  • Collagen Greens: £1.21–£1.67 a serving, 33 per pack

Compare the grams per serving of whatever you are buying it for, not the number of ingredients on the front of the pack.

Most greens powders are counting, not dosing.

Ours is built the other way round.

A longer ingredient list is not a bigger dose.

7/13

Seven of the thirteen UK greens powders we checked add synthetic vitamins and minerals to the mix. Those %NRV figures come from a lab, not from the greens, and they are what makes an ingredient list long.

Ingredient declarations read across thirteen UK greens powders, August 2026. Plenty of the shelf is clean too — Aduna, Rheal, Naturya, Huel and Free Soul do not fortify either.

What a scoop is actually carrying.

Collagen Greens against the pattern across thirteen UK greens powders, read off the labels in August 2026.
What is being compared Typical UK greens powder Collagen Greens
Wholefood greens base Usually Yes
Hydrolysed collagen per serving Not never — Alpha Foods Green Collagen carries more collagen than we do, and JSHealth carries 1,000mg. It is uncommon, not unheard of. Rarely 4,000mg
Creatine monohydrate per serving Myprotein THE Performance Superfoods carries 3,400mg of Creapure® and costs less per day than we do. Rarely 4,000mg
Digestive enzymes Sometimes DigeZyme®
Synthetic vitamins added to pad the label Seven of thirteen UK greens powders we read do add them. Five of the thirteen do not, same as us. 7 of 13 None

Parts of the shelf do parts of this. Alpha Foods puts collagen in its greens. Myprotein puts creatine in its superfoods blend. Boots' own Wellthy pairs collagen and creatine at 3,000mg each and contains no greens at all — and if the pair is all you want, Wellthy costs less than we do. What we have not found is one scoop that does all four at once. That is the argument here: fewer purchases, not a cheaper one.

Greens powders, answered.

What is a super greens powder?

A powdered blend of vegetables, grasses and algae you mix with water — barley grass, wheatgrass, spirulina, chlorella and the like. It is a convenience product. It is not a substitute for eating vegetables, and any greens powder that tells you otherwise is overselling.

Do I still need a separate collagen or creatine?

Not at this dose. A scoop carries 4,000mg of creatine monohydrate and 4,000mg of hydrolysed collagen, which are the maintenance doses used in the research. That is the point of the format — one purchase instead of three.

Are the vitamins on a greens powder label doing anything?

Read where they come from. If a label shows large %NRV figures, those vitamins were almost certainly added as isolated compounds rather than coming from the greens — seven of the thirteen UK powders we checked do this. It is not harmful, but it inflates the ingredient count and it is not what you are buying greens for. Ours has none added.

What does a greens powder taste like?

Neutral, closer to cold green tea than to fruit. It mixes in water without a blender. Most greens powders taste of what they are, and this one is no exception — we would rather say that than promise you a milkshake.

What is the best greens powder in the UK?

There isn't one, and any brand that tells you otherwise is selling. It depends what you want the scoop to do. If you want the widest ingredient list, AG1 is broader than us. If you want the lowest price per day, Bulk and Rheal both beat us. If you only want collagen and creatine paired, Boots' own Wellthy is cheaper and does exactly that, with no greens in it. We are the one to look at if you want wholefood greens with both actives at a studied dose in the same scoop, so it replaces two or three purchases rather than joining them.

How does Lean Greens compare with other UK greens powders?

On price we are mid-table — fifth of eight brands we priced in August 2026. Cheaper: Bulk, Rheal, Free Soul, Myprotein, JSHealth. Dearer: AG1 and IM8. On composition, 63% of our scoop is collagen and creatine by weight, and we add no synthetic vitamins or minerals — though five of the thirteen powders we read do not either. The honest summary is that we win on convenience, not on price.

Is a greens powder worth it?

Not if you are expecting it to replace vegetables — it will not, and the greens in any powder are modestly dosed by the standards of a plate of food. It is worth it if the alternative is nothing, or if you are currently buying collagen and creatine as separate tubs and would rather buy one. Judge it on what is printed on the pack, not the ingredient count on the front.
