If you want the most collagen you can get inside a greens powder, buy the Alpha Foods Green Collagen. It has 8.1g a serving. Ours has 4g.
We make one of the four products in this comparison, so it seems fair to say that in the first line rather than the last.
Here is the whole shelf. There are only four greens powders sold in the UK with collagen actually in them, and they are less alike than you would expect.
| Product | Collagen | Source | Creatine | Servings | Per serving |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alpha Foods Green Collagen | 8.1g plus 2g elastin | Bovine and fish | None | 20 | £1.40 |
| Collagen Greens | 4g | Bovine, Type I & III | 4g | 33 | £1.33 |
| JSHealth Greens + Collagen | 1g | Marine | None | About 30 | About £1.27 |
| Ancient Nutrition SuperGreens +Collagen | Not stated | Eggshell membrane | None | — | — |
Checked August 2026 against each brand's own UK listing. Formulas and prices change, so read the label before you buy.
Three things stand out.
The doses are miles apart. Alpha Foods gives you eight times what JSHealth does. Both call themselves a greens powder with collagen. Only one of them is really dosing it.
One of them does not tell you the dose at all. The Ancient Nutrition tub lists eggshell membrane collagen and what it calls collagen-boosting ingredients. There is no number anywhere on the listing. If a label will not give you a milligram figure, you cannot compare it, and you should assume the number is small.
Only one of the four also has creatine. That one is ours, and it is the whole reason our collagen dose is 4g and not 8g. There is only so much room in a scoop.
THE SHORT VERSION
This shelf asks you to pick: collagen in your greens, or creatine in a separate tub. Collagen Greens puts 4g of each in the same scoop, with a digestive enzyme complex, at 33 servings a bag.
60-day money-back guarantee.
Trusted by 20,000+ UK customers since 2012.
This is worth explaining, because on the face of it Alpha Foods beats us.
A scoop only holds so much. Ours is 12.6g. Of that, 4g is collagen and 4g is creatine. Together they are 63% of the scoop by weight. The greens are what is left.
Alpha Foods spends its whole actives budget on collagen. That is a perfectly good decision, and if collagen is the only thing you are after, it is the better one.
We spent ours on two things instead. Most people taking collagen in their forties and fifties are now being told to take creatine as well. The bet is that they would rather not buy and remember two tubs.
If that is not you, buy the Alpha Foods.
Collagen is not one ingredient. The four products here use three different kinds.
Bovine, Type I and III. Ours and Alpha Foods'. Type I and III are the types found in skin, hair, nails and connective tissue. Hydrolysed, so it dissolves cold.
Marine. JSHealth's, from fish. Fine, but they use 1g of it.
Eggshell membrane. Ancient Nutrition's. This is a genuinely different thing from hydrolysed peptides, and it is usually present in much smaller amounts.
Alpha Foods also adds 2g of elastin from fish. If you avoid fish, that rules out both Alpha Foods and JSHealth.
If you want a wider look at collagen on its own, without the greens, we have a UK collagen powder buying guide.
It is easy to focus on the collagen line and forget what the rest of the tub is.
We priced thirteen greens powders across Holland & Barrett, Boots and Ocado in August 2026 and read every ingredients list. Seven of the thirteen add synthetic vitamins or minerals. Added zinc citrate, added B12, added ascorbic acid, added iron.
There is nothing wrong with that. It is normal, and it is cheap. It also means a label can print a big percentage that came from a factory rather than a plant.
We do not do it. Every green in our bag is a dehydrated plant. That is a purity choice and not a claim that ours is more powerful, and plenty of good brands leave the synthetics out too. Aduna, Rheal, Naturya, Huel and Free Soul all do.
You can see the full priced shelves in our guides to greens powder at Holland & Barrett and at Boots.
You want the biggest collagen dose in a greens. Alpha Foods Green Collagen, 8.1g. It is the answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
You want collagen and creatine without buying two tubs. Ours. It is the only one of the four with both.
You want marine collagen rather than bovine. JSHealth, but note it is 1g, which is a low dose by any standard.
You avoid fish. Not Alpha Foods and not JSHealth.
You are vegan. None of these. All four use collagen from animals. A vegan "collagen builder" is a different product that supplies the raw materials rather than the collagen itself.
You want it to taste of something. Not ours. It is unflavoured and earthy.

Alpha Foods Green Collagen, at 8.1g a serving plus 2g of elastin. Collagen Greens has 4g, and JSHealth has 1g. Checked August 2026.
Of the four UK greens powders with collagen in them, only Collagen Greens also has creatine. It has 4g of each in a 12.6g scoop.
Most collagen research uses doses in the range of 2.5g to 10g a day. A greens powder giving you 1g is unlikely to do much on its own. Look for the milligram figure on the label, and be wary if there is not one.
Neither is universally better. Both are mostly Type I. Bovine also gives you Type III, which is found in skin and blood vessels. Marine is absorbed slightly faster in some studies. The dose usually matters more than the source.

Nine greens powders on UK shelves have a published UK country of origin. Four do not, including one British brand. Here is where each is made, and how to check any of them yourself.

We read the ingredients list on sixteen greens powders sold in the UK. Only two had no flavouring, no sweetener and no fruit powder. Ours is not one of them, and here is why.

3g to 5g a day for most people, and no, you do not need to load. What the dosing evidence says, whether bodyweight changes it, and what UK products actually give you per serving.
