Best Greens Powder at Holland & Barrett: The Whole Shelf, Priced Per Serving

The best value greens powder in Holland & Barrett is their own one. It costs £4.50 for 165g, down from £9.99. That works out at 15p a serving. Nothing else on the shelf comes close, and nothing we sell beats it either.

So if you just want greens, you can stop reading now. Go and buy it.

Still here? Good. Because the shelf hides two things. The first is what each tub really costs you per day. The second is a gap in the range that nobody points out. We went through all ten greens powders in the shop on 13 August 2026 and priced every one by the serving.

One thing to get out of the way first. You will not find Collagen Greens in Holland & Barrett. We sell direct from our own warehouse in Newcastle. So read the table below as a shelf we do not sit on. We have named the best buys on it honestly, including the ones that beat us.

The whole shelf, priced per serving

Shops price by the pack. Sometimes they price by 100g. Neither tells you what a day costs.

So we did the sum. Take the price on the shelf. Divide it by the number of servings the label's own directions give you. That is the number in the last column.

Here is an example. The Holland & Barrett tub holds 165g. The label says take 5.5g a day. That is 30 servings. At £4.50, each one costs 15p.

Prices checked in Holland & Barrett on 13 August 2026. Most of this shelf was on promotion that day, so the RRP column matters. Check the shelf edge before you buy — these move most weeks.

A few things jump out.

The own-brand tub is not a cheap imitation. It has wheatgrass, kale, spinach, barley grass, chlorella and spirulina in it. It also adds 250mg of shiitake, 5mg of zinc and 5µg of vitamin B12. At full price it is 33p a day. On offer it is 15p. That is remarkable value.

Huel is the one to watch. Holland & Barrett sell Daily Greens at £51. Huel sell it themselves for £50 one-off, or £45 if you subscribe. You are paying more to buy Huel in Holland & Barrett than direct.

Bioglan looks cheap at £6.50 until you notice the tub is only 70g. The label says 5g to 10g a day. Take the bigger dose and you get seven days out of it.

What the shelf does not sell

Here is the gap. We searched the full ingredient list of all ten products for two words. Creatine. Collagen.

Neither word appears on any of them.

That surprised us with one product in particular. Applied Nutrition is a sports brand. Critical Greens is sold in the sports nutrition aisle. It still has no creatine in it.

To be clear about the limits of that claim: we checked ten greens powders on one shelf in one shop. Elsewhere in the UK you can buy greens with creatine, and greens with a little collagen. Myprotein put 3.4g of creatine in theirs. JSHealth put 1g of collagen in theirs. So this is a Holland & Barrett finding, not a law of nature.

But it matters, because a lot of people now take all three.

The three-tub test

Say you want greens, creatine and collagen. Holland & Barrett sell all three. They just sell them in three different tubs.

So we priced the stack, in the same shop, on the same day.

Holland & Barrett prices at RRP, checked 13 August 2026. Collagen Greens at the £44 monthly subscription price, plus £3.50 delivery, which brings ours to £1.44 a day. The H&B stack clears their £35 free delivery threshold.

Now the honest part.

The three tubs cost almost exactly what we do. A penny either way, once delivery is in. And when Holland & Barrett run one of their offers, the stack comes out cheaper than us.

There is more. Their creatine tub gives you 5g a day. Ours gives 4g. Their collagen tub gives 5g a day. Ours gives 4g. On the dose of each active, the three tubs beat us.

So we are not going to tell you the stack is a rip-off. It is a perfectly sensible way to buy.

What it costs you is not money. It is three tubs in the cupboard, three scoops every morning, and three things running out on three different weeks.

Why the cheap tubs are cheap

There is something worth knowing before you read that table as a straight price fight.

The Holland & Barrett tub in the stack is their own-brand, at 15p a serving. It is genuinely good value. But it is not the same class of product as a premium greens powder, and part of the reason is on the label.

Its zinc comes from added zinc citrate. Its B12 comes from added cyanocobalamin. Those are made in a factory, not grown.

That is common on this shelf. Of the ten powders we checked, five add synthetic vitamins or minerals: the Holland & Barrett tub, Bioglan, Applied Nutrition, Grass & Co and Bloom. Fortifying is cheap, and it lets a label print a big percentage that did not come from a plant.

We do not do it. Every green in our bag is a dehydrated plant. That is a purity choice rather than a potency claim, and it is one reason we cost more than a fortified own-brand tub.

Five others on the shelf are also unfortified, so we are not alone in this. Aduna, Rheal, Naturya, Free Soul and Huel all leave the synthetic vitamins out too.

Build the same stack from premium brands and the maths moves a long way. Take AG1 at about £79 a month. Add a Vital Proteins collagen tub and an Optimum Nutrition creatine. Dose-matched to what is in our scoop, that comes to roughly £97 a month. Checked August 2026.

So the honest summary is not that we are cheap or dear. You can spend £1.17 a day on this routine, or £3.20. We sit in the middle at £1.33, with everything in one scoop.

So what should you actually buy?

If you only want greens. Buy the Holland & Barrett own-brand at £4.50. It is the best value on the shelf by a wide margin. We are not going to pretend otherwise.

If you want the shortest ingredient list. Rheal Clean Greens has eleven ingredients. Naturya has six. Both are honest, simple products.

If you are vegan. Not us. Our collagen comes from cattle. Huel Daily Greens or Rheal are your picks on this shelf.

If you want no sweetener at all. Nothing here really qualifies. Most use steviol glycosides. Applied Nutrition uses sucralose. Bioglan's seasoning contains sugar. Ours has a whisper of stevia leaf too, so we are not exempt.

If you already take creatine and collagen. This is the one case where we are the better answer. Not because we are cheaper, because we are not. Because it is one scoop instead of three.

That is the whole argument. We are a greens powder built around 4g of creatine monohydrate and 4g of bovine collagen peptides. Together they are 63% of the scoop by weight. The greens are the matrix around them, not the point of the product.
